What is a landscape design plan?
Our landscape design plans are a detailed, to-scale CAD drawing that provide a comprehensive layout of an outdoor space from a bird's-eye view. The plan is a result of working through the client's preferences and needs with the specific characteristics of the lot and local environmental conditions. This visual layout shows the arrangement of the various elements that will be included in the plan; the hardscape (potential paths, patios, decks and structures), the softscape (plants and lawn) and the decorative elements (potential containers, water features, furniture and art). The details are finalized using a combination of photos, construction notes, plant schedules, detail drawings, all job dependent. We can also offer SketchUp drawings upon request.
Why do I need a landscape design plan?
With a landscape design plan you will know that your garden will be built exactly as you and your designer envisioned and planned, minimizing any misinterpretation during installation. With a to-scale landscape plan, estimating and quantifying materials will be straightforward. This could include soil, sod, mulch, or pavers, gravel, or decking, Likewise, plant material found on the plant schedule is assigned a specific size. This will allow contractors to provide comparable quotes based on the same scope of work and the same specifications.
My hardscape and beds have been installed. Can you help with a planting plan?
We sure can. We are passionate about plants. We can either do an on-site consult where we walk the property with you and suggest plant material based on site conditions, your garden style, interest, or not, in gardening, colour and plant likes and dislikes. Or we do the same property assessment and interview with you and do a formal drawing with photos and meet a second time to present the drawing.
